I fear I have overstepped boundaries.

I have asked two of my boys if they would allow me the honor to formally adopt them. We have been family for some time now and like sons to me for nearly as long. But they both seemed quite conflicted and have asked for time to process.

I do not mind waiting and I will not be hurt if they say no, but I can not shake the fear they may be hurt by my even asking, assuming that I am looking to replace families they already have.

It is rather silly, I know. I am just a bundle of nerves.

It is not something small you have asked of them, the fact they wish to think about it shows that they care enough about the subject to consider it truly instead of jumping into the situation without thought and possibly regret it in the future. As many young men would be prone to do.

Perhaps it may feel silly, but I believe you are within reason for your feelings.

i have found that doing something physically helps my nerves. usually i would practice sword play or the like.

[Go out with Hawke and the others and hunt gang members, slavers, and the like.]

perhaps i could come over and teach you sword play? it may help excise the nervous energy.
